Delfin USA & the world of Animal Research

Delfin USA’s instruments can be used in many different sectors in skin science and research. One of them applies to animal research (mice, rats, dogs, horses, pigs…), and more specifically to Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL) and skin barrier function changes (VapoMeter), as well as skin moisture assessments (MoistureMeter range).

Delfin Technologies has developed the first and only hand-held instrument on the market to measure evaporation rates in animal skin and in-vitro conditions: the VapoMeter.

VapoMeter In Vitro

It uses the unique, patented and scientifically validated

closed chamber measurement technology.

In the closed chamber, the sensitive humidity sensor is able to instantly

and accurately measure evaporation rates up to 300 g/m2h.

The measured values are displayed on the instrument’s screen as well as on your computer since the VapoMeter can be provided with a wireless transfer of the measured data to Delfin’s data collection software.

Regarding the skin moisture assessment, the MoistureMeter 4 Probes is the perfect hand-held instrument to measure water content in biological tissues. The probes can go as deep as 5mm below the skin surface.

In veterinary dermatology our instruments help analyzing skin behavior, measuring the effect of treatments, and enhancing nutritional components.

More than 20 clinical studies have been written within the scope of animal research, using Delfin USA’s instruments including the VapoMeter and the MoistureMeter range.
